These lanterns are being sold"as is. They are un-tested. And do show damage. They also do not include globes. They both have two mantels. But one lantern is missing one mantel cap. The lids are in fair condition. With a few spots of rust, and a couple dents. Both areas where the mantels hang show rust and dirt. Both lanterns have pumps, and they both seem to work, but one pump pulls all the way out very easy.
One fuel lid turns well, but the other seems to be stuck. Both mantel knobs turn well. The bases show paint loss, rust and dirt. The Coleman stickers are crackled. Please see pictures for detail. Not sure if. Or how well the lanterns work, With work, these lanterns may function.
But, without testing them, I cannot say for sure. It has some rust on it. But overall its in good shape for its age. It has the original glass globe with the red lettering. The glass globe is in greate shape without any chips or cracks. This is in very nice looking. I cant pump up any pressure.

The lantern does hold pressure. I could not actually test it because I don't have fuel, but I pumped it up and opened the valve wheel and you could hear air going into the mantles.
There is also some paint missing as you can see in the pics. The Pyrex glass is good. Overall, this is a very nice lantern and case. Import duties. Here's a Coleman lantern. Made in the USA and dated It was working when it was put away years ago and still holds pressure. It needs a good cleaning, and it needs new mantles. The metal handle does not have the hanging hook on it, and has some rust.
There is some rust on the uprights of the globe surround. The globe is in good shape. The lantern has some chips in the paint including on the Coleman logo. It does not leak. Coleman may have been testing the paint or the market for these prior to making all of them this way in A The purpose of the hood left is to reflect light out. The clamp right allows attachment to a boat or other object; the accessory was presumably marketed to fishermen. This Model lantern, dated Dec. The two downward projections at the bottom of the bracket fit into holes in the globe cage base on these models. These earliest A lanterns had green painted steel founts and, by November, also had the Coleman decal. Months after Coleman — Wichita stopped making the Model , they got Coleman parts from the Coleman — Toronto factory that was still producing this model.
The Canadian parts included their shorter burner tube above the burner cap , a wing nut to fasten the frame not a solid hex nut , and the embossed not stamped nickel plated brass collar bottom image. The fount and direction disk are both marked US. Collectors have found a number of these non-engraved lanterns in California as well as three, including the one pictured here, that Ron Becker found in Wichita. These lanterns apparently were made in excess of the ones purchased and engraved for the OCD.
